The Tiara:-
- Crochet Coaster
- Crochet Design Pad (From the Diaso DIY section)
- Elastic Bands
Get
something to loop your yarn with; I got the table legs which is about 1.2m in length.
You can get a cardboard or maybe just two chairs. This braid/wig is for my two
years old girl and the length is just nice, you may need longer if you have a taller
girl.
I did 50
loops around the table legs but it really depends on the thickness you like for
the braid. It may be lesser if the yarn is thicker.
I tie a
ribbon at one end before cutting it at the other ends.
Find a
place to secure the top of the yarn where the ribbon is. Separate the yarn in 3
equal portion and start making your braid.
Tie the end
of the braid with your yarn and trim the ends neat. Loop the end of the braid
into the hold where the ribbon is, this will make an adjustable head band for
your child to wear on.
* Parents,
please be careful with this as it can be a hazard for young child to play with
without supervision. The adjustable head
band is fun but it can also strangle the child. I went another step to secure
the size of the head band with a string of yarn so it can’t be pulled.
Make two of
this bow. I used 2 different ribbons with the blue color from the Frozen movie.
Place the ribbon as shown on above picture. Cut another ribbon and tie a dead
knot in the middle. Trim the ends of the ribbon.
Use the
ribbon where the dead knot is tied on the bow to tie onto the braid/wig. One at
the end and another one to replace the first ribbon.
I found
this crochet item from Diaso and think it is perfect for the tiara for the
braid/wig. Fold the crochet coaster half, the back higher than the front. Place
the crochet pad infront and sew all together.
Cut two
elastic bands that fit nicely at the back of the tiara with a cross. I lightly
burn the ends so it doesn’t thread. Sew the bottom ends onto the tiara. Place
the braid/wig under the cross and sew the top ends and you are done.
With her
short short hair this far (2years), she is so happy wearing it.
Thank you for viewing and come back soon.
